The Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada is definitely a chick flick for sure. The whole plot is basically Anne Hathaway wants to work for this fashion magazine and the head of it, Meryl Streep, is a complete witch and treats Anne Hathaway like crap and pretty much makes fun of her fashion throughout the whole movie. I know some guys like this movie because it has Anne Hathaway in it, but this movie is not my type of movie. It is funny and it does have its moments, but it's more of a chick flick over a guy flick. If you have a girlfriend, I would take her to go see it, but besides that, it really has no value. I give the movie three stars out of five and I will admit Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep do a great job of acting. It's just not my kind of movie.

The Dark Knight

The movie I am going to do for my movie review is The Dark Knight. In case you are wondering what the Dark Knight is about, here's a brief summary of the movie. In this movie, Batman is questioning whether he is doing Gotham good or bad. Also, while Batman is struggling with his identity, a new attorney comes along who puts all the criminals in jail. The name of the attorney is Harvey Dent. Anyway, while Batman struggles with his identity throughout the movie and Harvey puts criminals behind bars, there emerges one more interesting figure, The Joker. The Joker causes anarchy and chaos in Gotham and what Batman and Harvey have to end up doing is team up to try to stop the evil madman. As for my opinion on this movie, I think this movie was fantastic. With its non stop action and twisted plot, the movie kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This particular movie is probably one of the best I've ever seen and I think Heath Ledger should win an Academy Award for his role as the Joker because he was phenomenal. With his crazy voice and laugh to his creepy appearance, The Joker both creeped me out and blew me away at the same time. Overall, I would give this movie a five star rating and I would recommend the movie to anybody because I think it is one of the best movies ever made. Personal Testimony and Counter Argument

I admit that the Mac computers are so much better than a PC computer. The Mac is faster, has more memory, more video and audio, and has better ways to take notes in class as well as a voice recorder. When I first saw the Mac PC ads, I thought they were just funny commercials that provided the consumer with entertainment. Then, when I finally bought a Mac for college, I realized the ads had a lot more meaning to them than I thought. The Mac is a better quality computer and it does have more storage and it has all of its other features that a PC doesn't have, but a Mac does have its downfalls as well. A Mac can freeze up just like a PC. A Mac is easier to steal than a PC because a Mac is wireless and can be set down somewhere on accident and can result in the Mac being stolen. A Mac requires a lot more care than a PC. With a Mac, you have to be very gentle and you have to keep your screen clean at all times. With a PC, you don't have to do that as much because the PC isn't traveling to many different places. Like I was saying before, the Mac PC ads do have a lot of truth to them, but they also favor the Mac more than the PC and that isn't entirely true how the Mac is suppose to be so much better than the PC. The mac is a better computer, but the ads are a little biased toward how much better the Mac is than the PC.

In the Mac Pc ads, the PC and the Mac rival each other to see which one is the best computer for people today to use. In every ad, the Mac makes a new point saying how with the Mac you can make a movie or iChat or create your own music and how the Mac has all the other features a PC has and more. The PC can't ever make a point because he realizes the Mac is much better than a PC so the PC usually doesn't know what to say to the Mac as a counter argument and ends up saying really dumb things that make the ad funny. The meaning of this ad is the Mac is a whole lot better than the PC. It has more things you can do on it, loads up faster than a PC, and doesn't freeze up like a PC does. Love

When I think of love, I don't think of it as sexual passion for the other person. I look at love the same as Jesus did. I believe love is caring for someone more than yourself and willing to do anything for that person. I have realized the true meaning of love through my own experiences. When I had my first girlfriend last year in high school, I believed I was in love. But slowly, as time went on, I wasn't in love with her. I argued with her all the time and wouldn't want to solve the problem, I thought of dating other girls while I was with her, and we had too many differences and she wasn't willing to change some of them for me. When me and my first girlfriend broke up, I thought I would never find a girl who would love me for who I was. Then, out of nowhere, I found the perfect girl and I wasn't even trying to find her. Like my parents always said, if you stop looking so much, the girl will find you. Well my parents were right again. I found the perfect girl for me. We have been together for two months now and we've had our arguments and our differences, but we've always worked them out in the end. Plus, when she's been sad or angry about something, I am always there to cheer her up. This is an example of what I believe is considered love.Willing to care for someone more than yourself and willing to do whatever it takes to make that person feel better because you care for them and don't want them to be upset. Also, I consider love being able to work out differences and change certain things about you that need to be change. As you've read, I've made some changes about me and I've worked out differences with my girlfriend. The reason being I love her with all of my heart and I want her to be happy. Now that my friends is true love. Not wanting to be sexually active all the time and not caring what your partner feels or thinks about a certain situation, but caring about your partner more than yourself and doing things for them that you wouldn't do for anyone else.

Similarities between Animal Farm and Hitler

From what I could tell from the reading, Major, the pig in the story Animal Farm, does not like humans at all. Major thinks humans are evil and need to be gotten rid of, which is why he gives his speech to all the farm animals. Major believes the farm animals should unite and get rid of all the humans, similar to the idea of Hitler telling Germany they need to get rid of all the Jews. The point I am trying to make is Major and Hitler are the same person. Major hates humans, Hitler doesn't hate all humans, but he does hate Jews. Major wants the humans to be gone, Hitler wants the Jews to be destroyed. Major unites all the animals to join him in the fight to exterminate all humans, Hitler unites all of Germany to destroy all the Jews. If you look at both characters very carefully, you will notice all of these similarities. If you know any history at all, you will realize Hitler was an obnoxious madman and didn't care about anyone except himself and all he wanted was power. Now, if you look up what obnoxious and greedy means in a dictionary, you will find the word pig beside it, which is exactly what Hitler was. A power hungry, obnoxious pig. The reason the teacher had us read these two passages from Animal Farm and Mein Kampf was to show us the similarities between two different characters from two different books, the two characters being Major and Adolf Hitler. Project

The group project is going pretty good. My group worked together pretty good and came up with some interesting facts and some other ideas about the semicolon that we think the class will enjoy. There have been a lot of interesting facts I've learned through research. I've learned exactly where a semicolon should go, when it is to be used, and other subjects a semicolon is used in such as Math, religion, and computers. Trying to get enough information to fill a 9 to ten minute time frame has been a little difficult since a lot of the information about the semicolon is pretty much repeated all over the Internet through different sites. I do think what we have will be a pretty good presentation and I also believe everyone has done their share of work and it will show when we present. Overall, I think this assignment is a little awkward because it's about a punctuation mark, but I definitely can see the benefit in doing an assignment such as this one and for that reason I believe this assignment is very beneficial in developing a better work ethic with other people and it makes your presentation skills a lot better.
